Getting Ready for Catalina Island

This is a picture of Kyle driving the dinghy on last years trip to Catalina. The picture was taken in Emerald Bay. It's sort of a famous picture. We sent it in to Latitudes and Attitudes Magazine and it was published in the underway section.... Now we're starting to get ready for this years trip. We'll start by just working our way up the coast to Dana Point, then head across to Two Harbors (Isthmus Cove) and spend a wonderful week there. Rich has his near term check-list of boat chores he wants to get accomplished and I've started thinking about the food. There are several couples and their respective boats going. With up to fifteen possible people, the logistics of having common dinners gets a little dicey - good thing for the BBQ's on shore!! The boys are getting really excited. Last year Kyle got to not only drive the dinghy, but he would jump off the side of the boat each morning for a short swim with Dad. This year, Ryan says he's going to also drive the dinghy and jump off the boat. I'm sure he'll jump off the boat, we'll have to see about his driving abilities...
